We'd originally planned to go to Navy Pier but seeing as Sio's makeup and clothes were still en route, we just hung out in my apartment and got to know each other a bit better. As everyone arrived one by one, we decided to head out to Round 1 in a nearby suburb to get some purikura together. While everyone got ready, Sio, Panda and I went to go pick up her luggage so she could finally join in on being "Super Gal" for purikura and the rest of the weekend.
I didn't get any great shots of my makeup or outfit but I did do solo purikura so I have that to show!
I was actually amazed at how gorgeous everyone was! I couldn't stop thinking "Wow!! These women are absolutely fabulous, how did I get so lucky to be in such an amazing circle??" I think I even said that to a couple of people, maybe too many times!
My favorite purikura of the night is definitely this one of myself and Autumn!
Because we got to Round 1 a bit late, we actually ended up doing purikura until the place shut down, so we didn't leave until 2AM. I don't really know what sparked this, but I started taking pictures of everyone in the parking lot... and it got a bit interesting!
After that we went back to my apartment to sleep and get ready for Harajuku Fashion Walk Chicago!
I actually never know what I'm going to wear to these things and I was kind of worried... but this time I decided to give manba makeup a try, and even though it wasn't perfect, I really liked it and I think it's a big part of me having so much fun this time around!
The fashion walk went "as usual" with a group of about 20 or so people showing up to participate. It was overcast for the first half of the walk but then it got sunny and REALLY hot. But luckily that was towards the last 15 minutes of the walk so we didn't have to be outside too much longer.
After the fashion walk, we ate at Flat Top Grill (which will always be amazing) and we went to go get ready for karaoke! We were having fun at karaoke for about 2 hours until there was an incident that made us leave, but we just headed back to my place for more bonding and talking.
We also welcomed a new member to the circle! Her name is Jori, and I've known her for a while and I know that she has had a love for gyaru for years now, so I'm glad she's finally giving it a chance with us!
I realized after everyone left that we never got a group photo together, but after thinking about it, I think that it's nice to have a group of people who are all into the same fashion to hang out and to take pictures with, but I think we have something better than that. We all love gyaru, but we all love each other too!!
I think it's amazing (and maybe even rare) to have a gyaru circle in the west that is full of amazing gyaru who all truly care about one another and are genuinely a big group of friends. I realize that I'm extremely lucky to be in the position I am in and I am so thankful for it.
I can't wait until the next time my circle is all together again, but until then I have some wonderful memories to hold me over!
